Medically Complex Rehabilitation

We are medically complex unit with excellent clinical nursing expertise in helping patients with disabilities ,achieve their greatest potential and adapt to their disabilities. Our unit upholds the hallmark and long-standing objective of the Rusk Institute, to maximize patient outcome through interdisciplinary team approach. Nursing focus is on providing ongoing patient and family education, medication management, skin and wound care management, while managing complex medical issues.

Our Facilities

The Medically Complex Unit is 13 beds, 1 private room and 6 semiprivate rooms. Primary patient population consists of adults and geriatrics that require rehabilitative and restorative needs with the following conditions but not limited to:

  • Polyneuropathy and Myopathy
  • Kidney/liver Transplants
  • Hepatic Encephalopathy
  • Guillain Barre Syndrome
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Transverse Myelopathy
  • Pain Syndrome
  • Parkinson’s Disease
  • Non Surgical Spinal Cases
  • Spinal Cord Injury
  • Pre Prosthetic and Prosthetic Training.
