Nurse Manager, Epilepsy Unit
An honors graduate with a degree in Biology from Long Island University, Ranekka Tamasha Bell went on to complete her Nursing degree, graduating with distinction honors, from Pace University Lienhard School of Nursing. She progressed through the Clinical Ladder Program at NYU Hospitals Center to become Nurse Clinician of an orthopedic, peripheral vascular surgical unit, was promoted to Assistant Nurse Manager for Surgery, and is now the Nurse Manager of our Epilepsy Unit.
Ranekka participated in the speaker series for the East River Development Alliance to discuss healthcare career options to inner city, public school children; organized a team that participated in the 2006 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk; coordinated a community health and wellness outreach program entitled Healthy People: Healthy Communities; participated in the American Diabetes Association 2007 Health Expo; and worked as a per diem visiting nurse for several years. In 2006, she completed an MPA in Health Policy and Management from NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and was selected as a 2007 Fellow of the NYU College of Nursing’s Leadership Institute for Black Nurses. She is currently a doctoral nursing student at NYU College of Nursing.
